DAY 27: Gospel Advances Through Generosity

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Romans 10:13-15 ESV

CONSIDER: In Dave Ferguson’s book B.L.E.S.S 5 Everyday Ways to Love Your Neighbor and Change the World, he challenges us to “reread these verses, but this time swap out the word “someone” for your name. Ex. How are they to hear without (enter your name here) preaching? “

This helps us see our part in the spreading of the gospel. Your words can point someone to the Gospel. Your sharing of your story is compelling because you are telling how you found the love of Jesus, and that’s not imposing, that’s beautiful.

REFLECT: Who shared the gospel with you? How many stories of people finding their faith in Christ have you heard? What do you feel when you hear the stories of people finding faith in Christ?

PRAY:

  • Pray that you will be aware of who is in your sphere of influence and needs to hear the gospel.
  • Pray that you will bravely step into preaching and being sent.
  • Pray that when you share, you are received like one who has beautiful feet that have carried and preached the good news

Praying as a group?

Leading others in prayer is a great step in making disciples. We want to celebrate your and their faithfulness. For each person that prays with you, we will add 15 minutes to the 40.8 days of prayer committed so far.

How many prayed today (including yourself)?

Day 1: Reflecting On Our Blessings

August 1, 2024

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
